Altec Lansing Corporate Environmental Compliance Statement
Altec Lansing is continuously working toward eliminating hazardous substances from our products and processes. Global concerns over human health and environmental issues related to the use of certain materials in electronic products have led the European Union to enact the Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive. This directive calls for elimination of cadmium, lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium and certain flame retardants (PBB’s and PBDE’s) in electronic products by July 2006. Other countries are considering or have enacted similar legislation.
Currently, Altec Lansing has met or exceeded the RoHS requirements across our global product lines. We have eliminated the use of mercury and cadmium in our products, and our products have followed a Lead Free design philosophy since 2005. Altec Lansing's compliance with EU regulations is an example of our business' commitment to environmentally sound practices. We are determined to improve in the areas of environmental stewardship and social responsibility because it is the right thing to do for our customers, our shareholders and the communities in which we do business.
Altec Lansing will continue to look at what's on the horizon, and create a plan to meet or exceed the requirements. By taking this approach, we will ensure that our businesses and products will meet the needs of our customers and provide for a sustainable eco-environment.
