Altec Lansing HydraMini Speaker

I bought one of these speakers because I wanted a small speaker to carry around with me during work, I liked it so much I bought another one when I learned you can link the two speakers on bluetooth.When you link these speakers it sounds even better than just a single speaker. You can even notice little details on songs that is hard to hear in other speakers.I have said so many positive things about these speakers, but I only gave it three stars because I have noticed that when you link them sometimes there is a connection issue and they will sound really bad for a few seconds. Pausing the song and playing it solves the issue but it will end up happening again five minutes later and its kind of annoying. I know this will be a fatal flaw for a lot of you out there. I don't know if this is a known issue with this model of speaker or if I got a defective unit.I will try to contact Altec Lansing when I have time to get to the botton of this issue.So yeah if you are buying a single speaker I would give it 4 stars but if you are buying two of them to link together I will go down to 3 stars just because of the connection issue I've had.I have submitted a video of them playing together for reference. These speakers would easily be 4.5 stars for me if it wasnt for the connection issue between two speakersEdited review: if I could give Altex Lansing 5 stars for costumer service I would give them in a heartbeat. They reached out to me and they offered to replace my speakers to see if that would solve my connection issue. Unfortunately the new pair I got still have a connection issue when they are paired together which makes me think this is an issue with this model so Im keeping my original rating.Using two speakers is such an interesting concept because when one speaker plays vocals/treble and the other plays bass drums it makes it sound really good almost like you have a small surroumd sound. If they come out with a new model that solves this issue I will buy it in a heartbeat because I really like how these speakers sound. I think it sounds even better than my harmon kardon speaker which is a much bigger/louder/expensive speaker.In the mean time I think I will give away one speaker and just keep one. I will submit another video when I catch a glimpse of the connection issue just in the hopes it can help altec lansing improve their product

I bought this to use with a USB-C charger.If you plug in a USB-C to USB-C cable from your charger to the device it will not charge. it requires USB-A on the charger end. This is because they did not put in the resistors on the device end which tells the USB-C protocol that it is a device that wants power. The USB-A end doesn't care because it is an older system, which is why it works with their USB-A to USB-C cable.I contacted Altec-Lansing support and they had no idea what I was talking about until I sent them a screenshot of the USB specifications page where it details how to design a port to comply with the USB spec. At that point they just said 'we will get back to you as we investigate this' and then never got back to me. Ended up returning it.A company that is too lazy or too cheap or too clueless to figure out a 6 year old specification and add two resistors to the bill of materials is not a company that cares about its products or its customers.

I saw complaints about the battery not lasting even 2 hours. LED drains battery and the louder it is, more battery gets drained. There is a setting to turn off the LED. I have no issues getting 6 hours out of mine at full volume with no LED. It lasts my whole shift. I drive for FedEx and it allows me to listen to music in between stops and actually hear the music over the vehicle! I'm very happy with my purchase!

Clear, precise little details, no distortion at high volume, and loud ass hell even at medium volume, I highly recommend, it amazes me the get away with selling this barley over 20 bucks

I bought this for my work out studio and I thought it would be a little larger. I hooked it up to blue tooth on my phone and MAN was I surprised!!! The sound is so crisp and clear and that was not even with the equalizer settings. It’s perfect for what I need it for. The only thing that was wrong, and it’s definitely not a show stopper, is I couldn’t get the radio station to change. I’m sure I’ll figure it out, but I don’t think I’ll use the radio setting much.Definitely buy this little speaker!
