Compared to the previous model this is a huge upgrade.
The sound quality is not so open sounding. The 1.0 sounded very mid heavy and empty or hollow. This is a good thing because that means there is WAY more bass. Not to mention the treble is better as well. But when I compared to the JBL Flip 6, it got thrashed. But that was comparing a ~$60 speaker and a ~$120 speaker. Still very impressed.

Great sound
I purchased two of these items for my grandchildren. I own an older model that I use and was impressed with the sound quality for price. I chose these for them so they would not borrow mine.
