I received the Altec Lansing Portable Bluetooth Speaker HYDRAMOTION 2.0 Outdoor Adventure Series as part of Amazon's Vine program in exchange for an honest review.Wow! I'm thoroughly impressed with this speaker. The sound quality is exceptional, delivering great clarity and impressive bass for its size. Whether indoors or outdoors, it performs remarkably well.The speaker's features are top-notch. It's waterproof with an IP67 rating, so I don't have to worry about water damage when using it near water or in the rain. The 12W output ensures powerful sound, and the 16-hour battery life means it lasts through extended listening sessions.I love the RGB lights that add a fun element, especially for outdoor gatherings or parties. The ability to mount it is a bonus, making it versatile for various setups. USB-C quick charge capability is convenient for fast recharging, and it supports voice assistants, enhancing its usability.However, the hardest part of setting up this product was opening the clear plastic case it came in. The manufacturer placed tape over the ends, covering the tabs needed to press to actually open the case. Once I got past that initial hurdle, everything else about the speaker was fantastic. BTW, avoid the frustration with the packaging by having another person to help. 4 hands work better than two in this instance. I used a utility knife to cut around the tabs that must be pushed in to open the case.Overall, the Altec Lansing HYDRAMOTION 2.0 speaker is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker that combines impressive sound quality with rugged outdoor durability.

This is a review of Altec Lansing Hydramotion 2.0 Bluetooth speaker. It's cylindrical shape makes it easy to fit into a cup or bottle holder in your car or bicycle.If you stand the speaker up vertically so that the plus button is on top, the left and right drivers would be in the correct place. The stereo effect is barely noticeable, but then they never say it is stereo.If you try to watch a movie with this speaker, you may notice when people talk their lips don't sync with the audio. I measured the latency with a camcorder and it is about 280ms, plus or minus 33 ms. It's good enough for listening to music. More expensive Bluetooth speakers may have shorter latency.Of the various Bluetooth speakers I own, I especially like using this one when I'm moving around in my apartment kitchen because my kitchen are full of stuff everywhere. Other horizontally oriented Bluetooth speakers take up too much space and are harder to find space to put them down. This speaker, however, when used vertically can easily fit into small spaces.In the horizontal position, the speaker have a pair of feet but are very short, so you may find it rolling away once in a while. Among the various Altec Lancing Hydra series speakers, I find this particular one, Hydramotion, easiest to associate with the product.When paired to windows11, even though windows11 has volume 0 to 100, the speaker does not produce a volume change at each volume level. At level 0 to 5, it is silent. At level 6 is the first audible level and the volume stays the same until level 12. It takes about 6 or 7 level increase to cause an actual volume increase at the speaker. The plus and minus buttons on the speaker itself always cause a volume change, because it changes the volume level by 6 or 7 each time.When paired to an Ipad mini 6, I could not find a volume level suitable to fall asleep with. It's too loud or too soft. Otherwise the sound quality is good. The Altec Lansing HydraMOTION 2.0 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker has decent sound quality for its price point. It is an inexpensive speaker so you can't expect the same level of sound quality that you would get from that company whose name starts with a "B." But you are not paying $100s, either. I think this is a great summertime picnic, barbeque, and outdoor party speaker. It has plenty of sound, doesn't distort, at full volume, and has plenty of options for mounting with its included bracket and carry strap. It will even fit into a bottle cage on your bike if you want to cycle with sounds. It even has multiple light modes for the LED light bands at the ends of the speaker in case you want to do your disco thing.

Let's first get the negative comments out of the way, because there aren't many. Some of the controls aren't as intuitive as expected, so don't get rid of the manual - especially since they don't have a copy available online yet. I wanted to switch pairing from one phone to another and it took a while to figure out that the power button is only used to pair an initial device - once paired, you have to hold down the speakerphone button to force a new pairing. My only other gripe is the included pipe clamp - it's a perfect fit for the legs of an easy-up canopy, but only at an angle. And the knob doesn't clear the frame enough to get a good grip on it.In every other matter, this speaker is a solid performer. Even at a low volume, it put out enough sound for a medium-size gallery outdoors.
